Graffiti Tour Comuna 13
Description
The adventure begins at the San Javier station. Very close by, you will find the meeting point, our office, where you can get drinks and get comfortable. From there, we will take the bus to the Barrio 20 de Julio, where we will explore the areas of Independencia 1, 2, and 3. During this 2-hour and 30-minute experience, we will dive into the history of the armed conflict that affected Comuna 13 in Medellín, from its beginnings to the year 2002.
We will continue our adventure by admiring the graffiti in the area, where each piece has its own symbolism and message. Next, we will stop at an ice cream shop, where you can enjoy a delicious complimentary treat.
Afterward, we will take the famous escalators that will take us to the top, where you can enjoy stunning views of Medellín. At the top, you will also get to know some of the city’s most iconic places.
To finish, we will visit the Chota Gallery, a space dedicated to a renowned local artist, where we will learn more about his art and his impact on the community. Finally, we will return to the San Javier station, concluding this enriching experience.

We will meet at the Meeting point in the 20 de Julio neighborhood. I will be easily recognizable with a backpack and my accreditation.
The beginning:

We will begin our experience with an introduction to the armed conflict that affected Comuna 13 in Medellín from its origins until 2002.
The Graffitis:

We will explore the symbolism of each of the graffitis and their historical context, an artistic expression that has marked the history of the comuna.

Return to the station
We will conclude the tour by returning to the San Javier station, where our experience will come to an end.
